On February 3, 2020 the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Working Group II on Dispute Settlement opened its seventy-first session at the United Nations in New York, continuing its work on the preparation of a text on expedited arbitration rules.
CAM partecipated in the weeklong deliberations as an Observer, while our Director, Stefano Azzali, attended as Delegate for Italy (upon appointment of the Italian Ministry of the Foreign Affairs).
The deliberations focused on the incorporation of the expedited arbitration provisions in the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules and their applicability on the basis of the parties’ opt-in or opt-out.
