The student team from the University of Belgrade has won the tenth edition of the AIA-CAM Pre-Moot, organized in collaboration with AIA – Italian Association for Arbitration.
Silver went to the team from the University of Mainz, third place to Charles University in Prague, fourth place to the University of Sofia, and fifth place to the team from the University of Florence — the only Italian team in the top five.
The participants tackled the case of an international sales transaction subject to the 1980 United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. They were evaluated by a panel of real arbitrators based on several criteria: the effectiveness of the presentation, the logical sequence of the argument, the persuasiveness of the conclusions, knowledge of the law and the legal case, clear and measured language, the ability to engage the arbitrators, and the capacity to respond calmly to challenging questions.
The 16 participating universities were:
- University of Belgrade (Serbia)
- Bocconi University, Milan (Italy)
- University of Bologna – Alma Mater Studiorum (Italy)
